History
Susan Barnes started teaching dance to two students 32 years ago. She has continued to increase her instruction with new dance styles, different locations, and adding additional instructors.
These instructors continually attend professional workshops to enhance the learning experience for their students.
The Susan Barnes Dance (SBS) studio has been at the current site of 205 West Willow in Carbondale, Illinois since 2003.
Susan Barnes Dance has:
An annual performance at SIUC'S Shyrock Auditorium for the past 20 years.
Dance Competitions in places including St. Louis.
Worked with The Russian Company for the "Nutcracker Ballet".
Workshops with professional choreographers and companies such as Jazz Workshop, Giordano, Hubbard Street , etc. and Pilobolus.
Annual camps and workshops.
Community outreach peformances and fundraisers including the John A. Logan scholarship performance
